Notice is hereby given that the Board of Medicine has received a Petition for Declaratory Statement filed on behalf of Ricardo Mejia, M.D., on March 9, 2016. The Petitioner seeks a declaratory statement from the Board with regard to whether it is appropriate for Petitioner to delegate certain aspects of the hair restoration surgery known as Follicular Unit Transplantation (“FUT”) utilizing the Follicular Unit Extraction (“FUE”) technique to medical assistants under his direct supervision pursuant to Section 458.3485, Florida Statutes. The Board will consider this petition at its meeting currently scheduled for April 8, 2016. Except for good cause shown, motions for leave to intervene must be filed within 21 days after publication of this notice.
