GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Interstate 275/State Road (SR) 93 (I-275) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Studies. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven is conducting a Public Hearing regarding operational improvements to I-275 from (Interstate 4) I-4 to north of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Boulevard (SR 574) (WPI No. 443770-1) and the widening from north of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to north of Bearss Avenue (SR 678/County Road 582) (WPI No. 431821-1) in Hillsborough County, Florida. I-275 is a major north-south interstate that is an important connection to the regional and statewide transportation network (such as I-4 and Interstate 75) linking Tampa Bay area to the remainder of the state and nation. Widening I-275 is critical to maintain and improve access to major transportation facilities, as well as enhance mobility within the Tampa Bay area. The proposed projects involve the addition of auxiliary lanes in each direction from the I-4 ramps to north of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and widening of I-275 from north of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to north of Bearss Avenue to add one general purpose lane in each direction with transit accommodations in the inside shoulders. The purpose of the public hearing is to present information and receive public input regarding the projects.

Interested persons may submit written comments at the hearing, or at a later date to: Kirk Bogen, P.E., Environmental Management Engineer, FDOT, District Seven, 11210 N. McKinley Drive MS 7-500, Tampa, FL 33612-6456. Written comments will be accepted throughout the PD&E Study, but to be included in the public hearing record, comments should be postmarked no later than Friday, April 5, 2019.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to Title 23 of the United States Code, Section 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
