    The Florida Department of Transportation invites you to attend and participate in public hearing proceedings for the SR 679 (Pinellas Bayway Structure E) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. The proposed project involves replacing the existing Tierra Verde bridge (structure E), relocating the existing channel, and making operational improvements to the Madonna Blvd. intersection in Pinellas County; WPI No. 410755 1; Bridge No. 150049.

    DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, March 28, 2007, 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

    PLACE: Tampa Bay Watch Community Center, 3000 Pinellas Bayway, South, Tierra Verde, Florida

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This hearing is being held to allow interested persons the opportunity to provide comments concerning the recommended “Build” alternative for the project. The proposed improvements for S.R. 679 (Pinellas Bayway Structure E) include the replacement of the existing bascule bridge with a two-lane, high-level, fixed-span bridge and operational improvements to the Madonna Boulevard intersection. The public hearing is being conducted pursuant to Chapter 339, Florida Statutes, 23 CFR 771, 23 U.S.C. 128, Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, and Title VI and Title VIII of the United States Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968.     Written comments not received at the hearing conclusion may be submitted to the Department via mail but must be postmarked by Friday, April 7, 2007 to become part of the official public hearing record.
