    6A-6.09091Accommodations of the Statewide Assessment Program Instruments and Procedures for English Language Learners

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rule development is to remove the listing of allowable accommodations for English language Learners (ELLs) on statewide assessments to the current standardized test administration manuals. Accommodations for ELLs will continue to be available and will be addressed in the test administration manuals. In addition, a provision is proposed clarifying that accommodations provided are to be implemented in a manner that test responses are the independent work of the student, and cannot be used to provide assistance to a student in determining the answer to a test question. A further clarification is proposed that ELLs who are not currently enrolled in public schools or receiving services through public school programs are entitled to receive accommodations.
