    Description of Project

    This new building will be utilized by the College of Business. Accordingly, the new building will provide new classroom and office spaces dedicated to providing business students with an education that mixes the tools of analysis and creativity with application, communication and team skills. The College of Business at FGCU is also a leader in serving the area business community with both credit and non-credit services. The current enrollment in the College of Business is approximately 1,700 undergraduate and graduate students. Over the next ten years, the enrollment is anticipated to grow to approximately 4,000 students annually.

    In order to accommodate this growth, the building is programmed to contain approximately 70,000 square feet and will be three stories in height. The design of the building will be complimentary to other campus buildings, have a distinct appearance of its own, and will be located in a prominent and highly visible location on campus.

    The project will utilize the Construction Management Delivery method. The selected firm will provide design, construction documents, and administration services for the referenced project. The estimated cost of construction is approximately $14,900,000 and the project budget is $19,471,685.

    Instructions:

    Firms desiring to apply for consideration shall submit a letter of application.

    The letter of application should have attached the following:

    1. A completed Board of Regents “Professional Qualifications Supplement,” dated September 1999. Applications on any other form will not be considered.

    2. A copy of the applicant’s current Professional Registration Certificate from the appropriate governing board. An applicant must be properly registered at the time of application to practice its profession in the State of Florida. If the applicant is a corporation, it must be chartered by the Florida Department of State to operate in Florida.

    Submit five (5) copies of the above requested data bound in the order listed above. Applications, which do not comply with the above instructions, may be disqualified. Application materials will not be returned. The plans and specifications for State University System projects are subject to reuse in accordance with the provisions of Section 287.055, Florida Statutes. As required by Section 287.133, Florida Statutes, a consultant may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past 36 months. The selected consultant must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontract, or consultant in excess of $15,000.00 in connection with this project for a period of 36 months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

    Submittals must be received in the Facilities Planning Office, by 3:00 p.m. local time, on April 25, 2006. Facsimile (FAX) submittals are not acceptable and will not be considered.
