65C-22.001General Requirements

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 20, 2020, the Department of Children and Families, received a petition for variance of section 2.5.5 of the Child Care Facility Handbook, which is incorporated by reference in subsection 65C-22.001(6), Florida Administrative Code, from The City of Greenacres, Florida, a municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Florida, assigned Case No. 20-008W. Section 2.5.5 of the Child Care Facility Handbook requires in pertinent part, “Each child when transported, must be seated in a back seat in an individual factory installed seat belt or federally approved child restraint.” Subsection 2.5.5(D) specifically provides, “Children aged 5 years and older must be in seat belts.” Subsection 65C-22.001(6), F.A.C., states in pertinent part that child care programs must follow the standards found in the “Child Care Facility Handbook,” October 2017, incorporated herein by reference.
