11B-21.005: Criminal Justice Training School Requirements for Certification and Re-certification
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 16, 2009, the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, received a petition for temporary waiver of paragraph 11B-21.005(8)(a), F.A.C., from Director William Wall and the Sarasota Criminal Justice Academy. The Petitioner wishes to waive that requirement of rule which mandates that training schools operate on a 12-month calendar for all full-time instructional positions. The Petitioner operates under the umbrella of the Sarasota County Technical Institute. The Institute has made budget cuts in compliance with the reduction of workforce education training monies. These budget cuts require the various components of the Institute to reduce their instructional staff from 12-month to 11-month contracts. Petitioner states that it has no option but to comply. Petitioner, therefore, requests that the Commission waive that portion of paragraph 11B-21.005(8)(a), F.A.C., which requires training school instructional staff to operate on 12-month, full-time contracts.
