NOTICE OF INVITATION TO BID

BID NO. 2015015C Alafia Mitigation Project - Chicora

The Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Water Resource Management, Mining and Mitigation Program, is soliciting formal competitive bids for the below project:

PROJECT NAME: Alafia Mitigation Project - Chicora

MANDATORY SITE INSPECTION: THURSDAY, MARCH 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mining and Mitigation Program Homeland Office, 2001 Homeland Garfield, Bartow, FL 33830. Directions may be obtained by calling [phone]. Bidders are required to attend the mandatory site inspection to completely familiarize themselves with the nature and extent of the Work, any local conditions that may in any manner affect the Work, and the equipment, materials, and labor required for the Work.

BID SUBMITTAL DUE DATE: No later than 3:00 p.m. (ET) on THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2015 to the following address: Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Attention: Diane Harper, Procurement Section, MS 93, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000. The Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

BID AWARD POSTING DATE: Tuesday, April 7, 2015 unless extended by the Department for good cause.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor will provide all the necessary labor, supervision, equipment, and materials for the site preparation, earthwork, landform, drainage, revegetation, and establishment features for the Alafia Mitigation Project – Chicora. Notice: Bidder must have previous experience with the reclamation of lands mined or disturbed by phosphate operations and experience working with phosphate clays within the last 3 years.

LOCATION: The Chicora Tract is located on the South Prong of the Alafia River.

ESTIMATED PROJECT BUDGET: $1,600,000.00

PREQUALIFICATION: Bidder Prequalification is required for all bids. Each bidder shall provide a copy of its biennial pre-qualification letter from the Department of Environmental Protection. If not pre-qualified, the Bidder must submit a current State Contractor license certification or registration and current Corporate Charter registration with the Bid.
