Board of Nursing

The Board of Nursing hereby gives notice:

of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver, filed on September 27, 2013, by Maggie Teachout on behalf of Lake County Schools. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 39, No. 199, of the October 11, 2013, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a waiver or variance of paragraph 64B9-15.005(2)(a), F.A.C. regarding the one year experience in nursing home services requirement. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on December 4, 2013, 2013, in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

The Board’s Order, filed on February 4, 2014, granted the petition stating that the Petitioner shall be allowed to employ a professional nurse that meets all qualifications of Rule 64B9-15.005, F.A.C., with the exception of one year experience in a long-term care setting.
