    64B12-9.016Eligibility of Individuals Licensed in Another State

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 28, 2019, the Board of Opticianry, received a petition for variance or waiver filed by Michele Sousa regarding Rule 64B12-9.016, F.A.C., which requires that applicants be actively licensed to practice opticianry, in another state, territory, or jurisdiction of the United States, for a period of more than 3 years immediately preceding application. Petitioner did not maintain her license for the required period and is asking the Board to consider an exception to the rule requirement that she has actively worked in the optical field for over 25 years and that she be allowed to take the exam.
