The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service (FFS) and the Welaka State Forest (WeSF) Management Plan Advisory Group (MPAG) announce two public meetings and a public hearing to which all persons are invited.

MPAG ORIENTATION MEETING:

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 6:00 p.m.

PLACE: Welaka State Forest Training Room, 794 County Road 309, Welaka, FL 32193

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To allow the WeSF Management Plan Advisory Group to prepare for a public hearing later in the evening which will provide recommendations to the FFS to help in preparation of a management plan for the WeSF.

PUBLIC HEARING:

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 6:30 p.m.

PLACE: Welaka State Forest Training Room, 794 County Road 309, Welaka, FL 32193

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To solicit comments from the public on the management of the WeSF. Comments may be presented orally or in writing at the hearing. Written comments may also be submitted to the WeSF at Florida Forest Service, 390 Holloway Road, Florahome, FL 32140, to the attention of Scott Crosby and should be mailed so as to arrive at the office by the date of the public hearing.

MPAG MEETING:

DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, April 2, 2014, 1:30 p.m.

PLACE: Welaka State Forest Training Room, 794 County Road 309, Welaka, FL 32193

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To allow the WeSF Management Plan Advisory Group to review comments from the public hearing of April 1, 2014 and provide recommendations to the FFS to help in preparation of a management plan for the WeSF.
