NOTICE TO MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS
INVITATION TO BID
Proposals are requested from qualified mechanical contractors by the Department of Children and Family Services, hereinafter referred to as Owner, for the construction of:

PROJECT: Replacement of Exit Lights, Replacement of Fire Alarm System and Retrofit of HVAC Equipment

PREQUALIFICATION: The Owner accepts bids from those contractors who demonstrate current licensed status with the Department of Business and Professional Regulations. The Instructions to Bidders Bidder Qualification Requirements and Procedures are included in the specifications under Article B-2.
PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL BOND: A performance bond and labor and material payment bond is required.
DATE AND TIME: Sealed bids will be received at the architects office on May 5, 2009, until 2:00 p.m. Local Time (CST), at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
MANDATORY PRE-BID INSPECTION: We will conduct a mandatory prebid inspection with the architect at the project site on Monday, April 27, 2009, 1:00 p.m. (CST) for all interested contractors.
PROPOSAL: Bids must be submitted in full accordance with the requirements of the drawings, specifications, bidding conditions and contractual conditions, and with a copy of the contractors license. The contract documents may be examined and obtained from the Architect/Engineer:

CONTRACT AWARD: The bid tabulation and Notice of Award Recommendation will be posted by 5:00 p.m. (Local Time), May 6, 2009, at the architects office. In the event that the bid tabulation and Notice of Award Recommendation cannot be posted in this manner, then all bidders will be notified by Certified United States mail, Return Receipt requested. Any protests of the bid must be made within 72 hours of posting of the results. Failure to file a protest within the time prescribed in Section 120.53(5), Florida Statutes, shall constitute a waiver of proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes. If no protest is filed per Section B-21 of the Instructions to Bidders, Notice and Protest Procedures, the contract will be awarded to the qualified, responsive low bidder by the Owner.
