    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: (1) Federal regulations related to the United States Department of Energy funding requests require states, such as Florida, that are applying for Weatherization Assistance Program funding to prepare a State Plan as part of the application process. Another part of this process is providing the public an opportunity to review and comment on the contents of the State Plan. (2) Pursuant to 10 CFR §440.15, selection of an entity, or entities, should be based on entities’ experience and performance in weatherization or housing renovation activities; experience in assisting eligible low-income persons in the applied for geographic area to be served; and capacity to undertake a timely and effective weatherization program. On March 18, 2020, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity issued a Request for Applications seeking a public or nonprofit entity to administer the Weatherization Assistance Program in Orange County. The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is holding a public hearing on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, to receive comments regarding the State of Florida’s Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan and the Request for Applications’ top scoring applicant(s).
