    The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: April 28, 2016, 4:30 p.m. 6:00 p.m., Open House

    PLACE: Cultural Center of Charlotte County, 2280 Aaron Street, Port Charlotte, Florida, 33952

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a public meeting about improvements to US 41/Tamiami Trail from Cross Street to Cochran Boulevard in Charlotte County. FDOT will hold this meeting to give interested people the opportunity to review displays and talk one-on-one with staff. The Department’s contractor, AJAX Industries of Florida, LLC, is making improvements to 5.8-miles of US 41/Tamiami Trail from Cross Street to Cochran Boulevard. This project also includes signal upgrades at various intersections, milling and resurfacing, miscellaneous shoulder widening and bike lanes. The project will also improve pedestrian access at multiple intersections. The $14.5 million project begins in May and estimated completion is fall 2017.
