61C-5.001: Safety StandardsThe Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety hereby gives notice: on April 22, 2013 the Division issued an order. The Order was in response to a Petition for an emergency Variance from Science Drive Building, filed February 28, 2013, and advertised on April 4, 2013 in Vol. 39, No. 66, of the Florida Administrative Register. No comments were received in response to the petition. The Order on the Petition for Variance denies the Petitioner an Emergency Status of variance from Rule 2.20.4, 2.18.5.1 and 8.11.2.1.3(cc)(1)&(3) ASME A17.1b, 2009 edition, as adopted by Paragraph 61C-5.001(1)(a) Florida Administrative Code that requires the use of a 9.5 mm steel rope because the Petitioner has not demonstrated that emergency status is justified (2013-105).
