    The Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services announces public hearing will be held to review the draft Florida Interagency Agreement for the Transfer of Assistive Technology to which all interested persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, May 17, 2006, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    PLACE: 1721 Turlington Building, 325 West Gaines Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0400.
    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This is a state level agreement among agencies charged with providing assistive technology equipment and services to children and youth with disabilities. These agencies have developed a framework by which the users of such technology or his or her parent may request that an assistive technology device remain with the young person as he or she moves through the continuum from home to school to post-school. Agencies which support this framework are:
    Florida Department of Education (FDOE)
    Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS)
    Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)
    Division of Blind Services (DBS)
    Florida Department of Health (DOH), Children’s Medical Services (CMS)
    Florida Infants and Toddler Early Intervention Program (Early Steps)
    Florida Department of Education and the Agency for Workforce Innovation
    Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program
