    NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

    The University of Central Florida, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, announces that contractor services for the following service(s): WiMAX Campus Distributed Antenna System (DAS)

    Project description:

    The Contractor will provide construction/installation for a WiMAX In-Building DAS for the university to increase the WiMAX coverage and capacity on the main campus and the northern section of the Central Florida Research Park (CFRP). UCF has an in building WiMAX DAS design based on the ADC Fusion platform that will be followed for a WiMAX DAS build out.

    This project also includes the expansion of an existing Mobile Access system supporting Public Safety frequencies both 800MHz and future 700MHz into UCF’s Parking Garages, or in some cases installing separate BDAs in each Garage if fiber optic cable is not available. The selected proposer will collaborate with UCF in deciding whether the Public Safety Mobile Access DAS or separate BDAs will be deployed for Parking Garages on a case by case basis. In either case, the selected proposer is to do construction/installation for the Public Safety DAS or BDA for each Parking Garage.

    The selected contractor will provide construction documents, and construction administration services with a two (2) year warranty.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Contractors desiring to provide professional services shall apply by letter.

    Firms desiring to provide contractor services for the project shall submit a letter of application and a completed University of Central Florida “DAS Qualifications Supplement.” Proposals must not exceed 40 pages, including the DAS Qualifications Supplement and letter of application. Pages must be numbered consecutively. Submittals which do not comply with these requirements or do not include the requested data will not be considered. No submittal material will be returned.

    Selection of finalists for interviews will be made on the basis of the contractors’ qualifications, including knowledge and ability, past experience, bonding capacity, cost estimating, and qualification of the firm's personnel, staff, and consultants. Finalists will be provided with a copy of the final interview requirements, a copy of the University of Central Florida Design, Construction, and Renovation Standards, and a copy of the University of Central Florida Contractor agreement. The Selection Committee may reject all proposals and stop the selection process at any time.

    All applicants must be licensed as a low voltage contractor/installer to practice in the State of Florida at the time of application. Corporations must be registered to operate in the State of Florida by the Department of State, Division of Corporations, at the time of application. The plans and specifications for the Florida Board of Education projects are subject to reuse in accordance with the provisions of Section 287.055, Florida Statutes. As required by Section 287.133, Florida Statutes, a contractor may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past thirty six (36) months. The selected contractor must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontractor, or contractor in excess of $15,000.00 in connection with this project for a period of thirty six (36) months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

Submittals must be received by 5:00 p.m. local time May 30th, 2011. Facsimile (FAX) submittals are not acceptable and will not be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
