    NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

    ITB 16-20 Parking Lot 53 Pavement and Stormwater Repairs

    The University of North Florida Board of Trustees, a public body corporate, is soliciting bids to general contractors for pavement and stormwater repairs for Parking Lot 53 located at 4892 First Coast Tech Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

    The scope of work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: stormwater system and parking lot improvements consisting of storm pipe and storm structure repair and/or replacement, milling, resurfacing and regrading the main drive aisle of Parking Lot 53. The regrading will reduce the current ‘roller coaster’ effect resulting from existing pipe failure and pavement settling. Other work elements include the removal of old bollard and gate post sleeves, repairing the channelization at the bottom of all drainage structures and measuring inlets for compliance given the size of pipe.     The successful contractor is responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable local, state and federal occupational safety and health regulations pertaining to the scope of work outlined in this ITB.

    Minority business participation is strongly recommended and supported by the University of North Florida.

    A performance and payment bond for 100 percent of the amount of the bid will be required of the successful contractor for any project with a cost that exceeds $100,000.

    As required by §287.133, Fla. Stat., a contractor may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past 36 months. The selected contractor must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontractor or consultant in excess of $15,000 in connection with this project for a period of 36 months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

    Contractor shall have established equal opportunity practices which conform to all laws against discrimination and prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, age, national origin, marital status or religion; neither contractor nor any subcontractor or other person, firm or business entity with whom it would be engaged in a combined effort to perform the services has hired any person who is an officer or employee of UNF.
