The Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling hereby gives notice:

of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Variance or Waiver, filed on October 23, 2018, by Todd Shapiro. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 44, No. 208, of the October 24, 2018 Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a variance or waiver of Rule 64B4-3.0051, F.A.C., regarding the substantially equivalent licensing examination. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on November 8, 2018, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The Board’s Order, filed on November 29, 2018, granted the Petition. The Board found that Petitioner did meet the purpose of the underlying statute by other means, specifically, his years of experience, education, and other testing, and voted to waive the requirement that Petitioner take and pass the Clinical Level objective multiple choice examination.
