    The Florida Department of Transportation announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m.

    PLACE: Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center located at 2030 Polk Street, Hollywood, FL 33020

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Public Information Workshop Transit Improvements along SR 5/US 1 from the Miami-Dade County Line to SR 842/Broward Boulevard

    On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four, you and your staff are invited to a Public Information Workshop to learn about the proposed transit improvements along SR 5/US 1 from the Miami-Dade County Line to SR 842/Broward Boulevard in Broward County. The proposed corridor improvements will encompass 4 cities (Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Dania Beach and Fort Lauderdale) and are described below.

    - Installation of bus shelters at 17 locations

    - Installation of transit signal priority at 18 intersections

    - Installation of a crosswalk, and associated curb ramps and pedestrian signals for crossing on US 1 at NE 1st Street in the City of Dania Beach

    - Minor milling and resurfacing on Harrison Street to accommodate a bus bay

    - Installation of a pedestrian signal at an existing crossing at the intersection of Harrison Street and South 17 Avenue

    - Construction of a bus bay on Young Circle/US 1 south of Tyler Street

    - Minor reconstruction of the southbound right turn lane on US 1 south of SR 84

    Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignments and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project.
