GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To present for public comment the statewide stormwater treatment draft rule Chapter 62-347, F.A.C., and Applicant’s Handbook. The Department, in coordination with the water management districts and a technical advisory committee, has developed stormwater quality design and performance standards to update the existing criteria and reflect new research and today’s understanding of the impact of nutrient discharges from surface water management systems on water quality. The goal of the rule is to increase the level of nutrient treatment in stormwater discharges and provide statewide consistency by establishing revised stormwater treatment performance standards and best management practices design criteria.
