AGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION
State Plan Amendment
The Agency for Health Care Administration announces that it is requesting an amendment to the Florida Medicaid State Plan. This state plan amendment eliminates the Florida Medicaid retroactive eligibility period for non-pregnant adults. Eligibility will continue to begin the first day of the month in which a non-pregnant adult applies for Florida Medicaid. This change is authorized by House Bill 5001, the General Appropriations Act, signed by Governor Scott on March 16, 2018.
The retroactive eligibility period for pregnant women and children will not change.
This amendment to the State Plan will have a federal fiscal impact with an expected decrease of $14,918,112 in federal funds for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2017 – 2018 and a decrease of $44,754,337 in federal funds for FFY 2018-2019. The effective date for this amendment is July 1, 2018.
