Construction Industry Licensing BoardNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Construction Industry Licensing Board has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by C.A.R.P.I. U.S.A., Inc. on March 12, 2012. The following is a summary of the agency’s disposition of the petition:
The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Vol. 38, No. 12, of the March 23, 2012, Florida Administrative Weekly. The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on April 13, 2012. The Petitioner requested the Board’s interpretation of Section 489, Part 1, Florida Statutes, and whether a license is required for Petitioner to subcontract with a certified general contractor for the installation of flexible polyvinyl chloride (“PVC”) geomembrane and geocomposite lining materials as a water barrier, utilizing stainless steel anchorage batten bars, neoprene sponge rubber gaskets, and thixotopic epoxy water proof sealant. The Board’s Order, filed on April 27, 2012, issues a declaratory statement that Petitioner is not required to obtain a contractor’s license in order to subcontract for a certified general contractor on the project described in the Petition.
