    Notice of State of Florida Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program Application Cycle for Hurricanes Hermine and Matthew

    The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated $117,937,000 in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to the state for recovery in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared counties impacted by Disaster Declaration 4280 (Hurricane Hermine) and Declaration 4283 (Hurricane Matthew). The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is the lead agency and responsible entity for administering the funds.

    Notices providing guidance on these funds were published in 82 Fed. Reg. 36812-02 (Aug. 7, 2017), 82 Fed. Reg. 5591-01 (Jan. 18, 2017) and 81 Fed. Reg. 83254-01 (Nov. 21, 2016).  Eighty percent of the funding must be used in HUD-identified Most Impacted and Distressed areas.

    This notice is to notify eligible counties that the application submission period is currently open and will close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Please note that this period is for the submission of applications only; DEO will not be reviewing or scoring any applications until after Thursday, May 31, 2018.  This application cycle will award the remaining 20 percent of CDBG-DR funding referenced above or up to $22,408,030.  Units of General Local Government (UGLG) including counties and municipalities that are located in the eligible areas that experienced Hermine or Matthew storm damage are eligible to apply for funding based on the terms and conditions in this application. The following counties are eligible to apply for this funding: Brevard, Citrus, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Hernando, Hillsborough, Indian River, Leon, Levy, Manatee, Nassau, Pasco, Pinellas, Putnam, Seminole, Taylor, Volusia and Wakulla.
