The Department of Financial Services hereby gives notice:

The Department of Financial Services issued an Order Granting Petition for Variance or Waiver filed by Lockheed Martin Corp., d/b/a Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (Lockheed) on February 10, 2016. The following is a summary of the Disposition of the Petition:

The Notice of Petition for Variance or Waiver was published March 28, 2016, in Vol. 42, No. 47 of the Florida Administrative Register.

The Petition requests a waiver or variance relating to explosives regulations, subsection 69A-2.008(9), Rules 69A-2.0006-2.010, 69A-2.011 and 69A-2.013-2.018, Florida Administrative Code. Specifically, Lockheed sought relief from the rules as they apply to its activities pursuant to a U.S. Government contract(s) to the extent such activities are regulated by federal law. The Department reviewed the petition, and in an order filed May 10, 2016, granted the waivers or variances as it would not provide the public with less safety or security.
