    BUILDING 1248 CHAPEL RENOVATION, Corrective Measures due to Hurricane Michael

    Proposals are requested from QUALIFIED GENERAL CONTRACTORS by the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, hereinafter referred to as OWNER, for the construction of:

    PROJECT NO: DCF - 8802100

    TITLE: BID PACKAGE No. 11, BUILDING 1248 CHAPEL RENOVATION, Corrective Measures due to Hurricane Michael.

    SITE:  FLORIDA STATE HOSPITAL, CHATTAHOOCHEE, FLORIDA, 32324

    PREQUALIFICATION: Each prime Bidder shall be state-certified in accordance with Chapter 489, Florida Statutes, as a Roofing Contractor and/or General Contractor.  Bids from firms not able to furnish proof of the required certification are subject to disqualification.

    PROPOSAL: Bids must be submitted in full in accordance with the requirements of the Drawings and the General and Technical Specifications, which may be examined and obtained from the ARCHITECT/ENGINEER:

    MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory pre-bid meeting and projects walkthrough will be held on Thursday May 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM local time, at Building 1248 Chapel, Flowerwood Drive, Florida State Hospital Campus, Chattahoochee. Social distancing is required. Bidders may send more than one representative to the meeting.

    Florida State Hospital has a secured access to campus and now have a single point of entry. All visitors and vendors will be stopped and asked the following questions before being given permission to enter the campus:

    ·         Have you had symptoms of a respiratory illness (cough, sore throat or shortness of breath) and fever in the past 14 days?

    ·         Have you been to a country that has experienced an outbreak within the past 2 weeks of your travel?

    ·         Have you had contact with someone who is under investigation for COVID-19 or been in contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19?

    If a contractor or their representative shows up that cannot answer no to all three questions, they will not be allowed on campus.  Until further notice the only access to the campus is through the main entrance at the red light on US90.

    It is noted that contractors can expect a fifteen minute delay in entry onto campus.

    BID OPENING:  Sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and read aloud at:

    DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, June 16, 2020, 2:00 p.m. local time

    LOCATION: 1317 Winewood Blvd., Building #3, Room 205G, Tallahassee, Florida. Opening and reading bids aloud will occur in Building #4, Conference Room. Bidders may send only one representative to the opening. Social distancing is required.

    CONTRACT AWARD:  The Bid Tabulation and Notice of Award Recommendation will be posted within two business days, at the location where the bids were opened. If no protest is filed per Section B21, "Notice and Protest Procedures”, the OWNER will award a contract to the qualified, responsive low Bidder in accordance with established departmental contracting procedures (60D-5, F.A.C.).  In the event that the Bid Tabulation and Notice of Award Recommendation cannot be posted in this manner, then all Bidders will be duly notified.
