    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rulemaking is to amend the rule to accommodate use of the Fresh From Florida brand identifiers on hemp grown in Florida and to create a new identifier indicating when the commodity is grown, processed and manufactured in Florida. Incorporated forms and documents will be updated to reflect the addition of hemp to Florida-grown commodities.

    SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Rules continue to be promulgated in this department to allow for hemp to be grown in Florida, a program authorized by Section 581.217, F.S. The Florida Agriculture Promotional Campaign (FAPC) creates provisions for the agricultural industry to use Fresh From Florida brand identifiers on packaging and advertising to promote Florida-grown commodities. These rules will create provisions for Florida-grown hemp to use these brand identifiers. A separate identifier will be created for hemp that is grown, processed and manufactured in Florida.
