GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The purpose of these workshops is to gather public comments on marine fisheries regulations and issues in South Florida. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is responsible for managing fisheries in state waters and the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council and Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council are responsible for managing fisheries in federal waters in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico off South Florida. Goals of this meeting are to identify fishery management issues that are specific to South Florida and possible ways to better coordinate state and federal fisheries management in this region.
