    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rule development is to include a financial literacy strand in the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for social studies. In addition, the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for English and mathematics will now include access points to provide access to the general education curriculum for students with significant cognitive disabilities and English language learners will now have English language proficiency standards to become fully proficient in both social and academic English.
