NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Florida Office of Financial Regulation has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by CEX.IO LTD. on March 20, 2018. The following is a summary of the agency’s disposition of the petition:
The petition sought a declaratory statement from the Office on whether the petitioner's proposed business model falls within the Florida Money Transmitter Statute, Chapter 560, Florida Statutes. The original petition was published in issue 44/56. On May 24, 2018 the Office issued a Final Order on the Petition for Declaratory Statement. The Office determined that under the circumstances described, proposed activities would not require Petitioner to obtain a foreign currency exchanger license pursuant to chapter 560, Florida Statutes. The proposed activities would require Petitioner to obtain a money transmitter license under chapter 560, Florida Statutes.
