    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 20, 2020, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Centro Asturiano de Tampa at 1913 N. Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL. Petitioner seeks a routine variance of the requirements of ASME A18.1-2008, Sections 2.1.3.4.2, 2.1.3.5, 2.6.6.3, 2.10.1, 2.10.10, 2.11.1, as adopted by Rule 61C-5.001, Florida Administrative Code and NEC 620.SI(A) and FBC Accessibility 2017, 410.1, 410.3, 410.6, 404 that require the lower landing side of the platform needs an automatic arm or door, the platform needs a handrail on the side wall, a battery backed emergency light is required on the platform, need operation station at first landing, a means of manual operation is required, a battery backed alarm button is required, an externally lockable disconnect is required for the platform lift, clear floor space on the platform needs to be 30" by 48" minimum a. Front entrance needs to be at least 32” wide and the side entrance needs to be 42” wide, doors and gates are required to be automatic, clearances at the top landing which pose a significant economic/financial hardship.
