LEGAL NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOLLOWING PROCEDURES OF THE CONSULTANT’S COMPETITIVE NEGOTIATION ACT, CHAPTER 287.055, LAWS OF FLORIDA
The Board of Trustees of New College of Florida (NCF) announces Professional Services will be required by suitably qualified Architectural / Engineering (A/E) Firms registered in the State of Florida or working in collaboration with an established and qualified architectural practice licensed in the State of Florida.
The requirement is to provide planning and design services to be develop comprehensive proposals for a multi-purpose facility to support campus growth and assist with the integration thereof into the existing campus building stock and infrastructure. The estimated budget for construction, subject to final funding approval, is in the range $32,000,000 to $35,000,000. The contract for these services will be phased. The first phase will be to develop proposals that demonstrate a viable schematic design and including the provision of presentation materials. The second phase will commence with the development of the agreed schematic designs through construction documentation and including construction administration. It is anticipated that the contract will be single appointment with the second phase to be activated upon confirmation of State funding appropriation.
As scheme design work cannot proceed until full funding is received, the College reserves the right, at any time, to defer or terminate this project and/or initiate a separate architectural / engineering selection process.
The selected A/E firm will also be required to participate in the required Florida Dept. of State, Division of Cultural Affairs “Art in State Buildings” program as it relates to this project when construction funding is confirmed.
Applicants for the project must apply in writing for consideration. Interested A/E firms must submit the information required by the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) document. This includes but is not limited to the firm’s abilities with respect to feasibility studies, space planning and contextual design as it relates to higher education establishments, a synopsis of the firm’s qualifications, resumes of key personnel, and a current Standard Federal Form 330.

Interested parties may also request a copy of the RFQ document via e-mail to: IFrisco@NCF.edu Questions regarding this RFQ must be submitted by email only no later than ten (10) calendar days prior to the RFQ due date. All questions and responses will only be posted five (5) calendar days prior to the submission date to the NCF Facilities Web-Page listed above.
Return the printed and completed Statement of Qualification to New College of Florida, Office of Facilities, Planning & Construction, 5800 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, FL 34243-2109, deliver to Attention: Alan Burr, Director, no later than Monday June 25 2018 at 2.00 p.m. No electronic submittals will be accepted. The College will not be responsible for any delays in delivery.
On Thursday July 19 2018 beginning at 8.00 a.m. the Professional Services Selection Committee will meet at the NCF Campus Jane Bancroft Cook Library Conference Room 228 to review and score the accepted Requests for Qualification.
A minimum of three (3) firms may be asked to make presentations to the Professional Service Selection Committee on Thursday August 02 2018, beginning at 8.00 a.m. at the NCF Campus Jane Bancroft Cook Library Conference Room 228. Firms shortlisted for further consideration will be notified in writing of any changes to the above presentation date at least five (5) calendar days prior to the newly established presentation date. Any addenda to the RFQ will be issued on the Facilities Management website.
