    Construction Industry Licensing Board

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 21, 2013, the Construction Industry Licensing Board has received the petition for declaratory statement from Patrick W. Reed. The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of Section 489.105(3)(a), Florida Statutes, as it applies to the petitioner.

The Petitioner does not state in his request which statute the Petitioner seeks the Board to interpret. However, Petitioner appears to be requesting the Board’s interpretation of Section 489.105(3)(a), Florida Statutes, as to whether his general contractor’s license is sufficient to perform installation of wireless zwave technology routers, zwave thermostats, door locks and wireless zwave cameras that will allow absentee vacation home owners to monitor and regulate the status of their homes. Any work that involves high or low voltage line work would be subcontracted to a local licensed qualified vendor.

A copy of the Petition for Declaratory Statement may be obtained by contacting: Drew Winters, Executive Director, Construction Industry Licensing Board, 1940 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0783.
