Construction Industry Licensing BoardNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Construction Industry Licensing Board has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by Ista North America, Inc on January 10, 2012. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:
The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Vol. 38, No. 5, of the February 3, 2012, Florida Administrative Weekly. The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on March 16, 2012. The Petitioner requested the Board’s interpretation of Section 489.105(3), Florida Statutes, and whether a contractor’s license is require for installation of utility sub-meters. The Board’s Order, filed on April 20, 2012, grants the Petition for Declaratory Statement. Pursuant to Section 489.105, Florida Statutes, a general contractor’s license will satisfy the requirements for providing all of the proposed services in the petition, but the statement does not address the requirements for electrical contracting.
