The Florida Department of Transportation District 2 announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME: Monday, May 12, 2014, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. followed by public comments

PLACE: Legends Center, 5130 Soutel Drive, Jacksonville, FL

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This meeting is being held to give interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design and social, economic and environment effects of Financial Project ID Number 415250-1, otherwise known as the Howell Drive Bridge Replacement over the Ribault River in Duval County, Florida.

The existing two lane bridge will be replaced by a new two lane bridge with wider shoulders and new sidewalks. Construction also includes the approaches to the bridge which will consist of bike lanes, curbs and new sidewalks.

Two alternatives will be presented. Alternative #1 places the new bridge to the west of the existing bridge. Alternative #2 places the new bridge to the east of the existing bridge. Department staff will be available to assist in reviewing the displays and to answer your questions.
