    6A-4.004Florida Educator's Certificates with Academic, Administrative, Degreed Career and Technical, and Specialty Class Coverages

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To align provisions with changes from the 2024 legislative session from House Bills 1285, 5101 and Senate Bill 7002. The amendments encompass several key adjustments: establishing a new Classical Education Certificate; eliminating the subject area exam requirement for Temporary Teacher Apprenticeship Certification applicants; modifying the cumulative grade point average for Temporary Teacher Apprenticeship Certificate to 2.5 in the degree program; requiring applicants to commit to at least two years of team teaching during the Teacher Apprenticeship Program and complete a minimum of two years before applying for a professional certificate; revising the existing educator certificate application to add fee waivers for certain applicants adding Elementary Education K-6 or Exceptional Student Education K-12 subject areas; and establishing a new application process to request inactive status and to reactive an education certificate in inactive status.
