The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, July 8, 2020, 2:00 p.m. 3:30 p.m. ET

PLACE: This is a public workshop for the draft Species Conservation Measures and Permitting Guidelines for southeastern American kestrels. The presentation for this workshop is intended for environmental consultants. Information on joining the webinar will be available at https://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/wildlife/species-guidelines. Participation in the webinar will require access to a computer.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Commission will present the early development of draft Species Conservation Measures and Permitting Guidelines (Guidelines) for the southeastern American kestrel. Guidelines for state-Threatened species promote recommended conservation actions, outline activities that may result in take, and guide users through permitting options. These Guidelines are currently scheduled to go to the December Commission meeting for approval. This early stakeholder outreach is an introduction to the kestrel Guidelines and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide feedback. Comments can also be sent after the meeting to Imperiled@myFWC.com. Public webinars and a public comment period on the kestrel Guidelines will be held in September.
