    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 28, 2014, the Department of Health received a petition for Variance from Florida Administrative Code subparagraph 64E-16.004(2)(d)3, from Kelly Roberts, Petitioner, on behalf of Stericycle, Inc. This rule prescribes that reusable sharps containers shall be emptied into a treatment cart or directly into the treatment unit. The Petitioner requests a variance from the rule to allow the Petitioner to open reusable sharps containers and empty the contents into a larger reusable sharps container for transportation to a permitted treatment facility.
