    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 24, 2011, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center. Petitioner seeks a variance of the requirements of ASME A17.3, Section 3.11.3, 2.7.4 and 3.11.1(a)(2), as adopted by Chapter 30, Section 3001.2 Florida Building Code adopted by paragraph 61C-5.001(1)(a), Florida Administrative Code that requires upgrading the elevators with firefighters’ emergency operations, restricted door openings and two way communication which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
