NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Economic Opportunity has received the petition for declaratory statement from the First Academy, Inc., a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Orlando, Inc. It has been assigned case number 2013-0043. The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of Section 443.1216(4)(a)2., Florida Statutes, as it applies to the petitioner.

The petitioner seeks declaratory statement as to whether it is exempt from paying Florida reemployment taxes as an organization operated primarily for religious purpose and that is supervised, controlled, or principally supported by a church or a convention or association of churches.
