    NOTICE OF CHANGE

    Notice is hereby given that the following changes have been made to the proposed rule in accordance with subparagraph 120.54(3)(d)1., F.S., published in Vol. 42 No. 80, April 25, 2016 issue of the Florida Administrative Register.

    5M-19.001 Approved Florida Poultry Best Management Practices.

    The manual titled Water Quality/Quantity Best Management Practices for Florida Poultry Operations (June 2016 Edition), FDACS-P-02052, is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference.  Copies of the manual may be obtained from the University of Florida county extension offices or from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Office of Agricultural Water Policy, Mayo Building, 407 South Calhoun Street, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399 or accessed online at http://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference

    As indicated above, substantive revisions were made to the manual. They are noted below.

    Page 9, #6 has been revised to include the pencil symbol icon.

    Page 20, Section 1.3, #2 has been revised to read, “Use vaccines, as appropriate, that have been approved by the USDA-Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to maintain flock health.”

    Page 32, Section 3.4, #2 has been revised to read, “Ensure that bird transport vehicles are sanitized between pickups at other poultry farms.”

    Page 35, Section 4.2, #2 has been revised to read, “Use a lab to perform an analysis of the litter.”

    Page 38, Section 4.3, #1 has been revised to read, “If the poultry farm has associated cropland, apply fertilizer materials at agronomic rates, adding all sources of nutrients together (manure, egg wash water and commercial fertilizer).”

    Page 40, Section 4.5, #2 has been revised to read, “Once a year, inspect and maintain the water systems, ditches or wastewater conveyance structures, associated berms, pipelines and irrigation systems.”

    Page 50, Section 7.4, #3 has been revised and now contains the record keeping symbol.

    Pages 80, 83, 84, 86, and 89 of the BMP Checklist in Appendix 8 have been revised to include all of the changes referenced above.
