    The Department of Environmental Protection announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    PLACE: Gainesville Regional Utilities, Multi-Purpose Room, 301 SE 4th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: A meeting of the Orange Creek Basin Working Group will be held on June 30 in Gainesville at Gainesville Regional Utilities Administration Office. This meeting is open to the public. The morning portion of the meeting will present a strategy for allocating responsibilities for nutrient loading reductions as well as an update of efforts to implement best management practices in agriculture. The afternoon session of the meeting will focus on restoration of Newnans Lake and the actions that can be taken to improve water quality. The second phase Orange Creek Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) was adopted in July 2014. The BMAP addresses bacterial problems in streams and nutrient water quality problems in lakes in the Orange Creek Basin.
