    Board of Psychology

The Board of Psychology hereby gives notice that it has issued an Order on the Petition for Declaratory Statement, that was filed on March 10, 2006 by Jessica L. Podolsky. The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Volume 32, No. 13, of the March 31, 2006, Florida Administrative Weekly. Petitioner sought the Board’s interpretation of Rule 64B19-11.005, F.A.C., entitled “Supervised Experience Requirements”, and whether two specifically described employment situations, one in public high school and one in a community or four-year college setting, could satisfy the Board’s post-doctoral supervised experience requirements for licensure. The Board of Psychology considered the Petition at its meeting held on April 28, 2006, in Tampa, Florida.  The Board’s Order, filed on June 5, 2006, conditionally answered the Petition for Declaratory Statement in the affirmative, finding that both types of experience constitute the practice of psychology and could satisfy the requirements of Rule 64B19-11.005, F.A.C., although the Board would require more specific information regarding what is meant by “program development” to answer with respect to that particular activity.

A copy of the Board’s Order may be obtained by contacting: Susan Love, Executive Director, Board of Psychology, 4052 Bald Cypress Way, Bin #C05, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3255.
