GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to attend a public kick-off meeting concerning the proposed improvements to the U.S. 90 Corridor from the intersection of Glover Lane to State Road (S.R.) 87S in Santa Rosa County. The meeting will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CDT, at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium, 4530 Spikes Way, Milton. This meeting will include a short presentation, followed by an informal open house. The intent of this meeting is to introduce the project and outline the project process, scope and schedule. Representatives from FDOT will be available to answer questions, and receive comments.

The primary objective of this study is to develop a proposed improvement strategy that is technically sound, environmentally sensitive and publicly acceptable. This project will evaluate the need for increasing the capacity for the east-west travel demands on U.S. 90 in Milton. The capacity improvements to be evaluated will consist of, but not be limited to, widening the existing facility, a new corridor, one-way pairs, additional bridging of the Blackwater River, and/or combinations thereof. This study will also address the need for improved bicycle and sidewalk connectivity in the county, with connections to the Blackwater Heritage Trail and to the Historic S.R. 1 Trail.
