    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Electrical Contractor’s Licensing Board has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by VOIPNET ASSIST, LLC on April 01, 2014. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:

    The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Volume 40, No. 86, of the May 2, 2014, Florida Administrative Register. The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on May 16, 2014. The Petitioner was seeking the Board’s opinion as to whether the Petitioner, a business that provides professional services to businesses, including video surveillance system design and installation, is required to have a license to perform the activities listed in its Petition. In its’ Order, filed on June 20, 2014, the Board reviewed each service listed in the petitioner and issues the following Declaratory Statement :that for sales, design and installation of IP Video Surveillance Cameras (CCTV), - yes, at least limited energy system specialty license is required; for sales, design, and installation of IP Video Network Recorder Servers, and camera management – yes, at least a limited energy system specialty license is required; offering the option for hosted IP Video Network Recorder Servers at our collocation space – the Board had insufficient information to determine if a license is required; however, if monitoring is occurring, then a license is required; all systems are self-monitored by the client purchasing the system- no license is required; and installation and running CATS or CAT6 network cables (subcontract to licensed contractor) – yes, at least a limited energy system specialty license is required.
