    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Board of Optometry has received the petition for declaratory statement from Kenneth W. Lawson, O.D., on June 21, 2017. The petition seeks the agencys opinion as to the applicability of Section 463.014(1)(a) and (b), F.S., and Rule 64B13-3.008, F.A.C., as they apply to the petitioner.

    Petitioner seeks the Board’s opinion on whether the following activities would be deemed to be in violation of cited optometry statutes and rule: (a) becoming an owner of a vision care network company co-owned by laypersons; and (b) contracting with a vision care network company not owned by a licensed optometrist to render optometry covered services to members of HMOs contracted with the network. Except for good cause shown, motions for leave to intervene must be filed within 21 days after publication of this notice.
