NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 23, 2016, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Church of Scientology West Coast Building located at 118 N. Ft. Harrison Ave, Clearwater, FL. Petitioner seeks an emergency variance of the requirements of Sections 1.2, 2.2.4, 2.6.3, 2.7.4, 3.4.4, 3.9.2, 3.10.3, and 3.11.1, ASME A17.3, 1996 edition, as adopted by subsection 61C-5.001(1), Florida Administrative Code, that requires the upgrading the elevators which poses a significant economic/financial hardship and diminishes the historic value of the building.
