NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 27, 2016, the South Florida Water Management District (District), received a petition for waiver from Florida International University (FIU), Application No. 16-0627-1 for utilization of Works or Lands of the District to allow for the construction of a Skywalk/Suspension Pedestrian Bridge crossing over the C-4 Canal and SW 8th Street with associated North Plaza Landing (Stairs and Elevator) within the north right of way of C-4, west of SW 109th Avenue. Location: Miami-Dade County, Section 6, Township 54S, Range 40E. The petition seeks relief from subsections 40E-6.011(4)&(6), Florida Administrative Code, which governs the placement of permanent and /or semi-permanent above-ground structures within 40 feet of the top of the canal bank within Works and Lands of the District.
