FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION

Notice is hereby given that on June 19, 2020, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has issued an order. The Order denies a petition submitted by Christopher Bailey for a permanent variance from portions of the Volusia County Manatee Protection subparagraph (68C-22.012(3)(a)4, Florida Administrative Code). The petition sought authorization for the applicant or others associated with the applicant’s sea plane base to operate sea planes at speeds substantially greater than Slow Speed in a year-round Slow Speed zone. The FWC received the petition on March 24, 2020, and a notice of petition was published in the Florida Administrative Register on April 7, 2020. The petition was denied because issuance of the variance would not meet the purposes of the underlying statute, §379.2431(2), Florida Statutes.
