NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Florida Building Commission has received the petition for declaratory statement from Finfrock DMC. The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of section 707.5, Florida Building Code, Building, 6th Edition (2017). as it applies to the petitioner.

Petitioner seeks clarification of the Florida Building Code to its project, which consists of a proposed nine story multifamily building to be constructed using precast concrete products. Petitions presents the following question: If the fire barrier of a floor and ceiling assembly is the ceiling, would the continuity of a fire barrier be maintained if the barrier stops at the ceiling and the joint is sealed in accordance with section 707.8?
